Tuition

Tuition is due one month prior with no deductions for any absences, holidays, illness, or closures due to inclement weather, power outages, or other situations beyond our control such as a pandemic lock down or a positive COVID 19 case. Tuition is due regardless of a child’s absence from the program for any reason. Two months of tuition is required in tandem with registration to hold a child’s space. Families also have the option to enroll in bi-weekly payments by request. If tuition is not paid on the day it is due, a late fee of $50.00 will be added to the tuition for each day that it is late until it is paid in full. When a payment is delinquent for 5 days or more, care may be suspended until the balance is current and your child’s space will not be reserved. This is to ensure staff’s time is honored. If you have more than 4 late payments in one school year, your family may be asked to leave the program and the 30-day clause will be in effect. Late fees must be paid within 5 days from the first day late. All tuition payments are to be made to the CP Brightwheel Account, and cannot be collected via check or cash. All Tuition payments must be set to autopay. This is mandatory in order to secure your family’s enrollment. Note: Enrollment fees via third-party apps (i.e. LegUp) are not considered tuition payments and are handled separately from CP.

If your child’s start date does not occur on the first of the month, your first month’s tuition will be pro-rated accordingly. Click here for our 2024/2025 Rates.

Returned/bounced payments If payments are returned, CP will issue a returned fee of $35 in addition to our late policy.

Withdrawal

30-day Clause
Please note that you must provide at least 30 days written notice via email to Kristen at crayonpowerinc@gmail.com before ending participation in the program. The 30-day tuition clause will be in effect when care is terminated for any reason, no matter who initiates the termination. If you cancel your child’s participation in the program at any time without the required 30 days notice, you will be required to pay tuition for 30 days after the notice is given.

If you withdraw your child from the program, you must give at least 30 days written notice and presented in person, prior to withdrawal. Additionally, you can send notice in writing via email to crayonpowerinc@gmail.com

Absences

Families are expected to maintain attendance as agreed upon during enrollment. Tuition is based on your enrollment agreement and NOT on your child’s absence from the program. Tuition pays for your child’s seat, whether the seat is utilized or not is separate from the cost of childcare. Refunds and credits are not issued based on attendance. Tuition is expected to be paid in full on the date it is due. Any repeated aversion to the tuition agreement will be grounds for termination of care and the 30-day tuition clause will be in effect.

Early hours/Extended days (For hours outside of your regular schedule)

Early drop-off is $20 per day. Early drop-offs and late pick-ups must be arranged before the day they are needed. Early drop-off without prior arrangement will not be permitted and your child will not be allowed into CP until the start of their day. Pre-arranged late pick-ups are $35 per day.

Unarranged Late Pickups

There is a 5-minute grace period for pick up after your child’s daily scheduled pickup time. Every 15-minute interval after the grace period will incur a $20 charge. Approved escorts are the only person(s) that can pick up a child at dismissal. Fees for unarranged late pickups are due within 5 days of occurrence.

Vacation

Vacations are a special time in your child’s life. It gives them the opportunity to reconnect and further bond with loved ones. CP tuition is still due, even when your child is on vacation. Tuition rates are based on monthly expenses and therefore cannot be waived for vacation purposes.

Trial Enrollment period

Each new enrollment is subject to a 14-day trial period. This means that within the first 14 days of enrollment, if either you or CP feels we are not a good match, you may withdraw or we may unenroll your family. Once a child has left CP, personal artifacts are held for a period of two weeks and will be donated thereafter.

Pandemic clause

Childcare is a fixed-cost business, month-to-month. In case of a lockdown/quarantine, families are still required to pay full tuition in order to maintain a spot in the program. During a lockdown, CP will facilitate online school for families. Online school will include a variety of activities (some will be done offline). We will establish office hours for parent-to-teacher communication as well as teacher-to-student meetups. If you decide to leave CP during a lockdown, then the 30-day termination clause would still be in effect.

Refunds

Once payments are made, CP does not issue refunds of any kind. The only exception to this clause might be sudden closures on behalf of CP, that are not related to any of the clauses above. In the event of a sudden closure, families will be offered a credit via Brightwheel.

Termination of Care Policy

We will make every effort to work with the parent or guardian to ensure a holistic approach to childcare. Every aspect of the family is considered before termination of care might be needed.

Reasons for termination of care on our behalf are not limited to the following:

  • Frequent absences for any reason

  • Frequent last-minute absences

  • Unreasonable requests or behavior not in alignment with CP standards

  • Late/early drop-offs/pick-ups outside of regularly scheduled hours

  • Excessive negative comments about children in our care or CP publicly

  • Inability to comply with requests that ensure a smooth experience for your child

  • Aversion to the tuition agreement

  • Any threats to safety

30-day Clause

Please note that you must provide at least 30 days written notice via email to Kristen before ending participation in the program. The 30-day tuition clause will be in effect when care is terminated for any reason, no matter who initiates the termination. If you cancel your child’s participation in the program at any time without the required 30 days notice, you will be required to pay tuition for 30 days notice is given.

If termination is being considered, CP will initiate the following steps before terminating a family:

Initial Consultation: The director may request that the parent or guardian meet for a conference. The problem will be defined on paper. Intervention strategies will be discussed. The best solution to solving the problem will be agreed upon by the director, teacher, and parent or guardian.

Second Consultation: If the initial plan fails, the parent will again be asked to meet with the director and teaching staff again. Another attempt will be made to identify the problem, and establish a new, or revised, approach for solving the problem.

Disenrolled: When the previous attempts have been followed and no progress has been made toward solving the problem, the child may be disenrolled from CP at the discretion of the director.
